Game 1: Justin Verlander vs Trevor Bauer

Pitcher's duel decided late as Judge drives home Matt Carpenter, who tripled, in the 8th. Matt Joyce drives in another in the 9th and Verlander combines with Oliver Perez for the shutout.

 Game 2: Zach Greinke vs Mike Foltinewicz 

Willson Contreras and Anthony Rendon each hit 2 run doubles as the Cards score 6 runs off Grienke. Despite 3 errors, the Cardinals hold on for the win.

Cards win 6-2 

Game 3: Derek Rodriguez vs James Paxton 

Judge and Heyward trade solo shots in the first but the Nats pull ahead on an RBI double by Nola in the 4th. The Cards respond with 3 in the 5th, starting with a pinch hit homer by Cespedes followed by a 2-run shot by Rendon. The Nats tie it up with a Luke Voit homer and an A. J. Ellis RBI double. The game goes to extras and Freddie Freeman sends Cardinals fans home happy with a walk-off homer in the 10th.

Game 4: Ryan Stanek vs Yu Darvish 

The Nats go with an opener for the last 2 games. The game remains scoreless until a Matt Carpenter homer in the 7th put the Nats ahead. The Cards battle back with a pinch-hit RBI single by Tim Anderson in the 8th and walk-off another one with an Ender Inciarte RBI knock in the 9th.

Game 5: Luke Bard vs Jon Gray 

Back to back jacks (placeta, placeta) by Rendon and Freeman put the Cards ahead in the 4th and a 2-run shot by Javy Baez in the 7th seals the deal. Gray and 3 relievers combine to shutout the Nats.
